Parent Teachers Association

The fist general body meeting was conducted on 5th July. Rev. Fr. Thomas Thayyil led a session to the parents on being awakened to the challenges of the modern world and how to deal with the problems of their children. I am very happy to report that we have a strong PTA under the efficient leadership of Prof. Biju N C, Mr. Sanoj Kuttipuram, Mrs. Sreeja, Mrs. Jaseera and executive committee members.

Teachers Orientation Programme

Upgrading one’s mind from time to time is what makes a person’s knowledge up to date, which is a fundamental aspect of teaching and learning process. Keeping in mind of this crucial need, Teachers Orientation Programme was organized in the month of June in association with Macmillan publishers. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Sayed Haris.

Events and Programme

Stella Mariens also observed some of the most important National and international days and events of this year. In order to facilitate the education more effectively teaching and learning process beyond the classroom has become a necessity. To meet the challenge, the extra curricular activities like Yoga, Karatte, Dance and school band trained by resourceful and expert trainers.

The first two days in the month of August the school arts fest were conducted, to exibit the artistic talents of our students. On 2nd August Bro. Bibin Elanjiparambil inaugurated the arts fest. The students participated in different items and the Warriors house scored the highest point.

We celebrated the Independence Day on 15th of August with the true spirit of nationalism. We were blessed by the presence and message of Re. Thomas Thayyil, Vicar of Good Shepherd Church, Padanakad. Patriotic songs, speeches, band display and drill display were some of the colorful programmes complimenting the flag hoisting.

On 5th September  Stella Marien kids honored their loving teachers in remembrance of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. 9th standard students organized the programme. They took the teachers place by taking classes, managing rest of the juniors and giving a full day rest to the teachers. The respect and affection towards their teachers were outstandingly discovered. Entertainment activities were also conducted for the teachers.

One of the best galas that everyone love to witness and participate is onam. On this day our students, teachers and all non teaching staff adorned themselves in traditional attire to mark the importance of the festival. I would like to put on record the efforts of our PTA executive members who prepared and served onapayasam for the entire school.

On the birthday of the father of our nation, we thought nothing can be better than doing something useful for our nature. Hence on this day the senior students and the staff of Stella Maris School together stretched their hands and legs rounding the entire school campus to make it clean and green.

Another major event was Kids fest held on 14th November. Competitions like dance, action songs, fancy dress etc., were conducted for the KG students under the leadership of Sr.Cherupushpam the in charge of Kinter Garten. It was a joyful experience for our tiny tots.

Sports and games play a vital role in the integral growth of the mind, body and soul. The annual sports was held on November 8th 2019 and Rev. Fr. Thomas Thayyil inaugurated the annual sports meet by lighting the sports fire. The display of the students was very colorful and a variety of other events followed with a true spirit of sportsmanship.

Competitions

Our students took part in Kasaragod  Sahodaya Kalotsav as well as All Kerala Sahodaya Kalotsav and secured many prizes. They participated in Kasaragod Sahodaya Athletics and games 2019 and won the 1st and 2nd position for Kho Kho tournament under 17 and under 14 respectively.

Charitable Act

To imbibe the value based education in the young mind of the students, the institution aspires its pupils to develop a civic sense. As part of it our 9th std students have visited Sneha Sadan; the shelter home for women and shared their lunch with the inmates. To join the hands together with the flood affected people, students collected an amount and distributed to the victims of the flood.

Literacy, Science, Maths and Eco-clubs have been formed which help our students to explore knowledge and develop skills through Quiz, drawing competitions, collage work,  arranging wealth out of waste, arrangements of notice board etc beyond the text book and regular activities. Reading and handwriting competitions also were conducted by various clubs.

We celebrated the day of National as well as religious importance. The school celebrated such festivals like Kerala Piravi, National Yoga Day, Fit India School week etc.

Hosting the 60th Kerala Kalotsavam from November 28th to December 1st 2019 in the Stella Maris campus added a golden feather in the history of our school during this academic year.

Now before I conclude the report much has been achieved by the grace of the Almighty and Mother Mary the inspiring and the untiring support of the management, sincere and dedicated efforts of our teaching and supporting staff, the praise worthy contribution of our students and the great support of our parent community especially PTA executive members and Good Shepherd parishioners.

I would also like to extend our gratitude to each and every one of you for your constant support and prayers. We, the Stella Maris family is deeply indebted to you all for your service and co-operation.

Together with all of you, I rededicate the whole institution to Almighty God through the intercession of Mother Mary for his choicest and continuous blessings.
